The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is proud to announce that it received a perfect score of 100 on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and the distinction of being one of the "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality." The firm has now received a 100 percent rating on the CEI for eight consecutive years.
The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices that relate to LGBT workplace equality and is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Hinshaw is among 112 law firms nationwide to achieve the 100 percent ranking, which evaluates policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.
"The work of the Human Rights Campaign in advancing LGBTQ equality has had a tremendously positive impact in widening needed awareness and driving the progress of equality and inclusion," said Hinshaw Chairman, Kevin Burke. "Hinshaw is honored to be recognized with its perfect score on the 2017 CEI. We believe that LGBT workplace inclusion, supportive non-discrimination practices, equality in opportunities and benefits, advancement and leadership participation, and public commitment must be an ongoing priority. Hinshaw will be a better firm for all we serve with our core belief in LGBT equality and rigorous adherence to alignment with the Corporate Equality Index criteria."
The Human Rights Campaign, founded in 1980, seeks to improve the lives of LGBT Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law, and increasing public support among all Americans through innovative advocacy, education, and outreach programs.
