Fernando C. Rivera-Maissonet Cements Commitment to Hispanic Legal Community with New HNBA and LatinoJustice Leadership Positions

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is proud to announce that New York partner Fernando C. Rivera-Maissonet will further build on his commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the Hispanic legal community by taking on several leadership positions in the next year.
First, he has been selected to serve as a Deputy Regional Governor for Region II (New York) of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) for the 2024–2026 term. Rivera-Maissonet was also appointed as co-chair of the HNBA's Business Law Section for 2024–2025.
Additionally, he was selected by LatinoJustice PRLDEF as a mentor in its Next Generation Líderes (NGL) program for 2024–2025. The year-long program pairs high school students, college students, and recent graduates with practicing attorneys for personalized mentoring while also providing monthly group events to discuss law school resources and networking opportunities in the legal field. Rivera-Maissonet has over a decade of experience representing financial institutions in a wide range of legal issues. His primary practice areas include consumer financial services, mortgage servicing, and lender litigation, and he works closely with his clients to strategize cost-effective solutions to meet their business objectives. In addition to his active leadership involvement in the HNBA, Rivera-Maissonet also serves as co-chair of Hinshaw’s Hispanic Latino Affinity Network (HLAN).
