Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized as a top Illinois law firm for LGBT inclusiveness and equality as a result of the Equality Illinois 2015 Law Firm Survey.
Equality Illinois is the state's oldest and largest organization advocating for full equal rights for LGBT people. The organization works to advance equal treatment and social justice of LGBT individuals through education, advocacy and protection of the rights of the LGBT community.
"Equality Illinois' recognition is a wonderful achievement for the firm and it highlights the progress we have made. It also provides us with the opportunity to continue to improve workplace diversity at Hinshaw," said Chairman Kevin Joseph Burke. "Equality Illinois is a vital advocacy organization in the state and I am excited to see what additional impact the firm will be able to achieve for LGBT equality, building on the advances Equality Illinois is making on behalf of the LGBT community."
Todd M. Young, head of Hinshaw's LGBT Affinity Network, added, "The LGBT Affinity Network at Hinshaw provides an outlet for diverse attorneys to voice individual and group concerns and suggestions to management. Firm leadership team takes those suggestions seriously and acts accordingly. This recognition emphasizes how much progress has been made at Hinshaw and throughout the legal community."
Hinshaw, together with other top Illinois law firms for LGBT inclusiveness and equality, will celebrate this honor at Equality Illinois' annual Raising the Bar Recognition Event on July 21, 2015 in Chicago. The law firms will be featured in the Equality Illinois publication, "Raising the Bar: Law Firms Leading the Way to LGBT Equality," dedicated to its 2015 Law Firm Survey.
