Defense Litigator Katherine R. Woods Joins Hinshaw as a Partner in Miami

The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP today announced it has strengthened its Insurance Services practice group by adding attorney Katherine R. Woods as a partner in the firm's Miami (Coral Gables) office.
"Hinshaw's Florida insurance team is pleased to welcome Katherine and work with her to make sure she takes full advantage of Hinshaw’s national platform and other growth synergies,” said Pedro E. Hernandez, partner and co-leader of Hinshaw's global Insurance Services Practice Group. "Our insurance company clients will also benefit greatly from her experience in civil liability defense, insurance coverage matters, and construction defect litigation."
Woods represents insurance companies in a variety of litigation, including insurance coverage, construction, bad faith, and extra-contractual liability. Her practice focuses on commercial general liability and excess coverages, particularly in claims related to large project construction defects. Her background also includes personal injury, products liability, automobile insurance defense, and wrongful death. Woods is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. She holds a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and a B.S. from Florida State University. Woods was formerly a partner with Taylor Day Law in Jacksonville.
