David Levitt and Conrad Nowak Receive Decalogue Society of Lawyers Award of Excellence

The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partners David Levitt and Conrad Nowak were honored with the Decalogue Society of Lawyers Award of Excellence. Levitt and Nowak both received the award at the Decalogue Society of Lawyers 89th Annual Installation and Awards Dinner on July 11, 2023 in Chicago.
Founded in 1934, The Decalogue Society of Lawyers is the nation’s oldest Jewish bar association. The Society's mission is to advance members’ professional development, raise the standards of the bar and bench, educate the public on legal and Jewish issues, and maintain vigilance against discriminatory public and private practices, particularly antisemitism.
Levitt has more than 40 years of experience in handling matters involving intellectual property, insurance, commercial litigation, products liability, and trucking. He also helps clients navigate data and privacy regulations, including negotiating data privacy agreements and addenda, drafting and updating privacy policies, and consulting on compliance. Levitt is a Past President of the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel (IDC) and serves on multiple committees of the DRI, including as past Chair of its Intellectual Property Committee. Levitt chairs the firms Jewish Cultural Heritage Employee Resource Group
Nowak has a diverse practice representing both individuals and businesses in a variety of practice areas and industries and also serves as lead litigation counsel for several large construction companies in their project-related claims. He also counsels clients on day-to-day business issues and transactional matters. Nowak was the recipient of the 2022 Illinois Lawyers Assistance Program Carl H. Rolewick Award and was also recognized by Crain's Chicago Business as a "2020 Notable Veteran Executive." Nowak chairs the firm's Veteran Employee Resource Group and is an advocate for raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention in the veteran and legal communities.
