The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that partner April Toy has been named a 2023 Executive Leader in the Diversity MBA Media's 17th Annual Top 100 Under 50 list of executive and emerging leaders. Honorees are scheduled to be recognized at Diversity MBA's National Business Leaders Conference, on September 27-28, 2023. Toy was nominated for the recognition by the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE).
Diversity MBA Media's Top 100 Under 50 list recognizes executive and emerging leaders in corporate America who are setting remarkable standards and significantly influencing their respective industries. Leaders are chosen from a wide array of companies with both national and international footprints. Diversity MBA Media notes that "The 2023 class of honorees distinctively represents an increasing number of leaders in fields traditionally underrepresented by women, underscoring a positive shift towards promoting women of color to influential roles within workplaces."
Toy represents businesses, insurance companies, and individuals in a wide range of civil litigation matters. Her primary practice areas include commercial litigation, legal malpractice defense, and defending insurers in first-party and third-party insurance coverage disputes. She currently serves as the Hispanic National Bar Association's (HNBA) Region IX President and as the Vice-Chair of the HACE’s National Leadership Council. Toy is also a 2023 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).
