The law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is delighted to announce that Amy DuMond Kottke has been selected as a finalist for the 2025 Real Estate Lawyer of the Year Award by the Minnesota Real Estate Journal in its 2025 Real Estate Awards. DuMond Kottke was among the three finalists selected for this award.
Minnesota Real Estate Journal recognizes the accomplishments of leading real estate professionals each year through its annual Real Estate Awards. DuMond Kottke will be recognized among the honorees at the Minnesota Real Estate Journal's awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel Bloomington on May 1, 2025.
DuMond Kottke is a highly respected figure in the real estate and legal communities. She represents clients nationwide on real estate financing, development, acquisitions and sales, mergers, commercial leasing, and a wide range of construction matters—including advising companies on complex financing and loan products—involving municipal entitlements, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Section 8, and HUD-insured loans.
In the past year, DuMond Kottke served as legal counsel in two significant office-to-multifamily conversions in the Twin Cities. In one of the projects, she represented Sherman Associates in developing Groove Lofts. This notable project converted the former Northstar Center East into 216 mixed-income apartments, set to open in December 2024. This redevelopment provides residents with vital skyway access to several key downtown buildings.
In the other project, she provided legal counsel in converting Landmark Towers, transforming 211,000 square feet of vacant office space into 187 market-rate apartments, which are scheduled to open in April 2025.
In addition to these projects, Amy has also worked on senior housing developments across several states, including Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, and Texas, focusing on acquisitions and managing cooperative facilities.
