Russell A. Klingaman, a partner in the Milwaukee office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, authored the article "The U.S. Senate’s FAA Reauthorization Bill: Drones & Beyond – What’s in It for the GA Community?" published by the Midwest Flyer on June 2, 2016.
As Mr. Klingaman explains in the article, "It has been several years since Congress has worked on such a vast array of substantial aviation legislation. And, it will probably be several years before any similar legislative work is done with the potential for such a broad impact on so many different members of the aviation community." He then discusses several highlights of the act, which "has a large number of sections dealing with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)/drone safety and/or innovation."
