Robert T. Shannon — chair of the Government Practice Group of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP — participated in a webinar titled "Uber, Airbnb and Municipalities: Maximizing New Tax and Licensing Revenue Opportunities." Mr. Shannon and his co-panelists: (1) addressed the legal and regulatory issues raised by shared economy and innovative businesses like Uber, Lyft, Airbnb and HomeAway; (2) outlined relevant safety, zoning, competition and consumer protection issues; and (3) provided perspectives on government oversight of such industries in the future.
