Hinshaw's Joanna Storey recently authored an article titled "Hot Mics and Live Video: Best Practice Tips for Remote Appearances." Published in CNA's A Practitioner's Perspective on Emerging Legal Trends, Storey's article reviews lessons learned from the past year, along with prospects for the future as it relates to attending virtual meetings, depositions, court appearances, and networking events.
She cautions that "a lawyer should understand the risks and benefits of virtual appearance technology." Her tips include performing a 360 degree view of your space, practicing screen sharing and planning for interruptions.
