Former state and federal prosecutor David S. Weinstein joined the CBS4 Miami news team to discuss the conclusion of the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. Earlier this week, the proceedings came to a close as the Senate voted to acquit the President of the high crimes and misdemeanors charges the House had accused him of.
"This was unlike any other trial I've ever seen," Weinstein said. "It was all arguments…this was by no means anything other than a political process." He also noted the lack of discussion regarding the standard of impeachable conduct, since while some Senators acknowledged that Trump had done things wrong, they also argued that his acts didn't "rise to the level of impeachment."
