Bessie Antin Daschbach was featured in Law360 Insurance Authority, discussing the creation of a new United Nations Forum for Insurance Transition to Net Zero (FIT). The forum is structured to give its member insurers access to sustainability advice from leading regulators and researchers.
Daschbach explained that the FIT’s net-zero goal covers a wide range of sustainability issues in the insurance industry, which is increasingly vulnerable to claims related to the effects of climate change.
"There is a lot of incentive for insurance companies as a sector to be engaged in an effort to support an accelerated transition to a net-zero-based economy,” she said.
