Hinshaw partner, Adam Guetzow was recently quoted in a Skilled Nursing News article titled "How Nursing Home Operators Can Improve Survey Responses." The article reports on his recent presentation—alongside James Moriarty, deputy general counsel at AbleHearts—at the recently concluded LeadingAge Illinois' 2022 Annual Meeting & Expo.
The article explains how Guetzow discussed risk mitigation strategies for nursing home operators when confronted with state or federal citations arising from actions of rogue employees. He emphasized the importance of dealing with "rogue employees," defined as an employee that undermines a business by ignoring rules and policies. "While you may not be able to prevent certain things, your response is just as important when you're looking at it in hindsight just three months later at the survey hearing."
"Make sure your employee training is up-to-date to deal with rogue employees," he advised.
