Event
May 17 – 18, 2022
Hinshaw's Aimee Delaney, David Alfini, and Adam Guetzow will participate in three separate-panel discussions at the LeadingAge Illinois 2022 Annual Meeting & Expo. On May 17, 2022, they will give a presentation titled "Arbitration Agreements: A Revisit to the Importance These Arguments can Play in Litigation." Attendees will learn about recent changes to Illinois law and best practices on enforcing arbitration agreements in the skilled nursing setting. Real-life case scenarios will be discussed, demonstrating the effectiveness of arbitration agreements in litigation.
On May 18, the team will give two presentations. The first, titled "State Survey Pitfalls: A Case Study," will dive deeper into an understanding of the most sought out violations and citations following the resumption of State Surveys. Best practices will be reviewed, including IDR and appeal violations/findings. A case study of a facility navigating a recent post-COVID 19 survey and the subsequent appeal process will also be assessed. The second presentation, "Unique Employment Considerations for the Aging Services C-Suite," will examine hiring and termination issues regarding C-Suite positions in the aging services space, problems relative to employment agreements for executive employees, and the advantages and pitfalls of agency employment.
