Fort Lauderdale-based partner and St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law alumna Jenelle La Chuisa will serve as keynote speaker at the law school’s "2025 Pro Bono Awards Ceremony" on April 9, 2025, in Miami Gardens, Florida. The annual event celebrates those students who completed 100 or more hours of pro bono service. A reception will follow the ceremony.
La Chuisa co-chairs Hinshaw's Pro Bono and Community Involvement Committee in Fort Lauderdale, facilitating volunteer opportunities for pro bono projects and community events.
She has received several awards for her public service, including the 2025 Florida Legal Award for ESG Impact, the 2025 Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award for the 17th Judicial Circuit, and the 2024 Russell E. Carlisle Advocacy Award from Legal Aid Service of Broward County. La Chuisa also serves on the Board of Directors for Legal Aid Service of Broward County and volunteers with the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition.
