Frank Mazzagatti to Present at the IAHA 42nd Annual Health Law Symposium
Event
Nov 7, 2024
New York-based partner Frank Mazzagatti is scheduled to present at the 2024 Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys (IAHA) 42nd Annual Conference on November 7, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois, and virtually. Mazzagatti will present "The Anatomy of a Medicare Audit," exploring how statutory and regulatory schemes grant the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) the authority to audit, investigate, and reclaim overpayments. The presentation will cover potential defenses, such as using coders to evaluate current procedural terminology (CPT®) codes and modifiers for service billing and statisticians to address extrapolation by program integrity contractor auditors. The session will conclude with a discussion of a real case, its outcome, and a summary of industry trends.
Hinshaw is proud to sponsor the symposium, offering a platform for healthcare attorneys to exchange ideas and practices for advancing the healthcare industry.
