David Alfini and Vincent Rizzo to Present at Hinshaw-Sponsored National Honor Our LGBTQ+ Elders Day Forum
Event
May 16, 2024
Hinshaw partners David Alfini and Vincent Rizzo will present at the National Honor Our LGBTQ+ Elders Day Forum in Los Angeles, California, on May 16, 2024. This Hinshaw-sponsored event recognizes the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community and addresses the needs of its elders, one of the fastest-growing populations in senior living. Attendees can participate in multiple sessions and earn NHAP and RCFE continuing education credits. Hinshaw will provide a continental breakfast and lunch.
This program, also co-sponsored by Alzheimer's Los Angeles and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, will provide a comprehensive foundation on how best to serve this population within the senior living sector. By exploring their collective history, we aim to uncover both opportunities and challenges, fostering a deeper understanding of how to provide tailored and inclusive services.
Alfini will present "Economic, Social, and Medical Considerations: A Primer on Providing Culturally Competent Care." Rizzo will also present "Human Resources Strategies for LGBTQ+ Elder Support: Employee Training and Proactive Policies and Procedures."
Forum Topics
- Economic, Social, and Medical Considerations: A Primer on Providing Culturally Competent Care
- Human Resources Strategies for LGBTQ+ Elder Support: Employee Training and Proactive Policies and Procedures
- Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia: Insights for LGBTQ+ Eldercare
We look forward to coming together to honor and support LGBTQ+ elders.
