Ambrose McCall to Present "Update on Social Media"
Event
Dec 11, 2013
Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP partner Ambrose V. McCall will present "Update on Social Media" at a West LegalEdcenter live webcast on December 11, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. central time.
If you are lucky, the ethics rules, or rules of professional practice in your jurisdiction may provide specific guidance on your use of social media in certain areas, such as obtaining prior approval after submittals of web page advertising materials to practice governing authorities. Many jurisdictions, however, are in the midst of an ongoing assessment of their current rules, including recent amendments, such as those enacted by the ABA to its Model Rules last summer. On the litigation side, social media evidence is becoming increasingly prevalent in both civil and criminal trials, raising questions as to how rules relating to the authentication of evidence should be applied. This program will discuss the intricacies of implementing a social media program within your law firm, as well as examining considerations for the authentication of social media evidence such as email, screen shots or copies from social website accounts.
