Professional Background
Mr. Kuzmanovic joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in June 1988. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

He is very active professionally, with membership in the American Bar Association and the Wisconsin Bar Association. He is also a member of the Milwaukee Bar Association, and was appointed in 2005 to a three year term to its Bench/Bar Civil and Courts Committees.

Among his litigation-focused professional affiliations are the Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin, the Defense Research Institute, Conference of Freight Counsel, Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, Litigation Counsel of America and American Inns of Court, Thomas E. Fairchild Inn.

Mr. Kuzmanovic is also an active member of the Association of Defence Counsel at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ADC-ICTY), and in 2009 was elected to its five-person Executive Board for a one-year term as one of two vice-presidents. The ADC-ICTY Executive Board is responsible for the administration, finance, policy and representation of the ADC-ICTY before the Tribunal and also before the United Nations Security Council.

Mr. Kuzmanovic was one of five Hinshaw attorneys to be included in April 2008 issue of Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition. Since 2005 he has been named annually to the Super Lawyer list in the area of Business Litigation by Wisconsin Super Lawyers and Rising Stars magazine. In 2006, he was profiled as the subject of "A Small Part to Play," an article in Super Lawyers describing his litigation practice and his human rights work on behalf of independent Croatia.

In January 2006, he was appointed as a Judicial Court Commissioner by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Mary Kuhnmuench, Branch 5. This appointment requires the approval of the Chief Judge, and two thirds of the Circuit Court Judges.

Mr. Kuzmanovic has appeared on ”International Focus,” a weekly television broadcast sponsored by the Institute of World Affairs at the University Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He an active speaker to professional and community groups around the country. Among his representative presentations are:

Community Service Activities
Mr. Kuzmanovic received the Milwaukee Young Lawyers Association Service Award for Outstanding Contributions to Community in 1991. He was recognized by the City Council of the Croatian city of Slavonski Brod for his contributions to its defense in 1992.

Mr. Kuzmanovic was awarded the Order of the Croatian “Pleter” for his contributions toward Croatia’s independence by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman in 1996. From 1994 to 2002, he served as a board member and Vice President of the Croatian American Association, a Washington, D.C.-based Croatian advocacy group. He is a member of the National W Club of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, an organization whose members must have earned a varsity letter while an athlete at the University of Wisconsin.

Among his many service activities, he worked with students at Oak Creek High School as a coach for the State Bar Mock Trial Competition and coaches two children’s soccer teams in his Greendale community.
