Zina Yu represents businesses in civil litigation, focusing on cases involving insurance and employment, as well as life, health, disability, and ERISA matters. Involved in all phases of litigation from client intake to resolution, Zina works with her clients to ensure they are informed throughout the process.
In the area of insurance, Zina has handled a number of bad faith claims and coverage issues. This has included reviewing and researching policies and working extensively with insurance carriers.
Zina's background further includes counseling clients on employment related issues. She has defended employers in single-plaintiff and collective actions involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. Zina has also advised on cases involving construction and professional liability.
Zina began her legal career with a firm in Encino, California. While there, she represented small to mid-size businesses and individuals in litigation involving contracts, real property, intellectual property, and business and commercial issues. Most recently before joining Hinshaw, she practiced with a Los Angeles area firm, where she further honed her civil litigation experience.
