Veronica Guerra works with insurance companies on a wide array of matters, handling a variety of cases from pre-suit stages through trial. Involved in all phases of litigation, Veronica has extensive experience with preparing cases for trial, including drafting discovery, taking expert and party depositions, and preparing clients for deposition in both English and Spanish. Veronica also has experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions and motions in limine.
Prior to joining Hinshaw, Veronica practiced at firms in and around Miami. She has experience in multiple areas of law within insurance defense, including personal injury and premises liability. Most recently, she worked at a local firm practicing construction litigation.
A former Executive Vice President of the Florida Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, Veronica competed in several ABA competitions during law school. She was also a member of the Florida Journal of International Law, and served as the publication's General Editor. In addition to working as a clerk for the Honorable David A. Glant, the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida, Veronica was a teaching assistant for three courses: Legal Research, Legal Writing, and Appellate Advocacy.

Representative Matters
Construction Defects
- After a motion for summary judgment based on the indemnity provision of a construction contract under Fla. Stat. 725.06 was denied, Veronica drafted a successful motion for rehearing on behalf of the defense. Not only was the motion for rehearing granted, but the judge's ruling on the motion for summary judgment was reversed in favor of the defendant.
Fraud
- While representing a real estate brokerage firm against claims of fraud, Veronica drafted and argued a successful motion for summary judgment based on plaintiffs testimony elicited by Veronica, which established that the case had been filed outside the statute of limitations.
