As a consumer financial services attorney, Melisa Zukic advises financial institutions in litigation. She handles all aspects of foreclosure litigation, including preparing pleadings and motions, as well as appellate briefs. Having worked in a bank herself, Melisa not only understands the day-to-day operations, procedures, and transactions, but also the complex risks her clients face. With this well-rounded perspective, Melisa is able to provide them with solutions tailored to their legal problems.

Before joining Hinshaw, Melisa deepened her financial litigation-related knowledge at firms throughout New York State. Most recently, she was a senior associate in the New York office of a multi-state firm. Melisa also gained invaluable experience through a variety of internships and externships during law school.

As an Extern for a Manhattan-based firm, she assisted with real estate closings and commercial litigation cases, including torts, contracts, and employment law matters. Melisa was also a Clinical Intern at the Touro Law Center's Bankruptcy Clinic. While there, she conducted initial client intake interviews to determine eligibility for filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy and attended bankruptcy court proceedings.
