With over fifteen years of experience, Jennifer Arnold handles reinsurance, reinsurance arbitration, and insurance coverage matters in the U.S. market, for Lloyd’s syndicates, and in the London market. She represents both cedents and reinsurers in complex reinsurance and retrocession matters involving facultative and treaty reinsurance, reinsurance pools, captives, and insolvency. Her extensive arbitration experience includes the successful defense of several arbitration awards in federal court.

Jennifer is also experienced in insurance coverage—property, natural disaster, general liability, disability, business auto, and business interruption matters. She represents foreign and domestic insurers in jurisdictions throughout the United States.

Jennifer also assists reinsurance companies in audits of claims submitted to treaty programs and works with third-party administrators (TPA) on the evaluation and valuation of individual claims.

  • Succeeded in confirming an arbitration award granting a reinsurer unpaid premiums and attorney’s fees against the Illinois Liquidator. Catalina Holdings (Berm.) Ltd. v. Muriel, 2020 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 59812 (N.D. Ill. Apr. 6, 2020)
  • Defended a foreign insurer’s right to have a federal court hear a challenge to an arbitration award against a state liquidator pursuant to the New York Convention and Federal Arbitration Act. Catalina Holdings (Berm.) Ltd. v. Hammer, 378 F. Supp. 3d 687 (N.D. Ill. 2019)

Personal

Jennifer is an avid gardener, scuba diver, and world traveler, but most enjoys spending time with her rescue dogs.
