David Acosta focuses his practice in the areas of insurance coverage litigation and employment law. David has counseled clients on a variety of insurance-related and employment law matters. This includes investigating and defending complaints filed by employees before federal and state agencies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Florida Commission on Human Relations (FCHR).
Before joining Hinshaw, David practiced at a litigation firm in Miami, where he focused on all aspects of litigation in the areas of insurance defense, employment law, and casualty defense.
David also gained invaluable experience through a number of clerkships and internships. While he was still a law student, he was a judicial intern for the Honorable Susan Wigenton and the Honorable Michael A. Shipp, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey; and he was a law clerk for the EEOC. David was also the President of the Association of Latin American Law Students and a member of Phi Alpha Delta.
