Lora Hurtak has more than 28 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, assisting with both plaintiff and defense civil tort litigation for a broad range of clients and industries, including retailers, manufacturers, telecommunications, security, property management and maintenance.

Ms. Hurtak assists attorneys in all aspects of civil tort litigation from intake through trial, including medical records review, discovery responses, jury verdict searches, fact investigation and records subpoenas. In addition, she is actively involved with the file administration of the southeastern regional counsel portion of a national litigation program for one of Hinshaw’s international clients.

Ms. Hurtak prepares status reports, legal budgets, progress spreadsheets and has personal contact with assigned litigation counsel for cases outside the State of Florida, including review and approval of fee and cost invoices.

She has assisted on cases for Fortune 500 and international clients, including Tyco International, Walgreens, Evenflo, Coca-Cola, AT&T, AutoZone, Boston Market, Culligan and Velda Farms.

Mr. Hurtak has chaired several office paralegal roundtables and played an instrumental role in authoring and creating a number of office reference tools.

Professional Background

Ms. Hurtak joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in July 2004. Previously she was a paralegal with Gaebe & McCullough, P.A. (formerly Haddad, Josephs, Jack & Gaebe), where she was paralegal to both name partners.

Community/Civic Activities

Ms. Hurtak served as a longtime board member and officer on the parent booster clubs for gymnastics, cheerleading and “danceline” while her daughters were in school.
