Ms. Anna Martell is a paralegal who primarily assists attorneys in personal injury and property damage defense litigation. Ms. Martell handles the full range of paralegal duties, including the drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and orders for various court filings. She also has substantial experience with a number of trial software programs, as well as deposition preparations, reviewing discovery material, preparing affidavits and assisting with subpoenas.
Ms. Martell joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in March 2017 with more than a decade of paralegal experience. Prior to joining Hinshaw, she was the lead paralegal for the nation's leading drugstore chain at its headquarters in Deerfield, Illinois. In that capacity, Ms. Martell would investigate and analyze lawsuits for factual details and examine lease documents and vendor contracts for potential tender situations. Prior to that time, Ms. Martell worked as a paralegal at a toxic tort and insurance defense litigation firm in Elgin, Illinois where she drafted pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and orders for various court filings. She began her career as a legal secretary for an insurance company in Long Grove, Illinois where she provided in-house secretarial support for asbestos division attorneys and maintained the filing and organizations of a myriad of case matters.
In addition to her other educational accomplishments, Ms. Martell was named to the Dean's List numerous semesters and was a recipient of the ECC Trustee Leadership Scholarship. She also served as secretary for the Alpha Beta Gamma International Society, president of the Office Administration Student Association (OASA) and in 2000 was named Elgin Community College's Most Outstanding Woman.
