Ami Anderson focuses her practice in the defense of claims of personal injury and property damage. In addition, Ms. Anderson has substantial experience in the defense of professional liability matters, including medical and legal malpractice claims.

Ms. Anderson has first-chaired a number of jury trials and is involved in all phases of the litigation process. She has experience drafting legal memoranda, discovery documents, legal pleadings, opinions, motions and other court documents, as well as handling depositions and trial preparation.

Prior to joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in January 2016, Ms. Anderson was an associate at a firm in Crown Point, Indiana; a firm in Merrillville, Indiana; and another firm in Schererville, Indiana.

During law school Ms. Anderson was a judicial extern to the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She clerked with a defense firm in Chicago. Prior to her legal career, Ms. Anderson worked in the health care field.

Ms. Anderson's law school accomplishments include having been a member of the Dean's List. She worked as a Criminal Law teaching assistant and was also a student mentor. Ms. Anderson was a member and Treasurer of the National Lawyers Guild. In addition, she was a member of Women in Law, and participated in Chicago-Kent's Health Clinic.
