Evan Bonnett Authors Article on the Expansion of Overtime Eligibility

August 16, 2016

Evan J. Bonnett, a Rockford-based partner in the Labor & Employment group at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, authored the article "Stop the Clock: The Department of Labor Significantly Expands Overtime Eligibility," published in the 2016 July-August issue of the Illinois Banker Magazine.

The article discusses how this past spring, the Department of Labor (DOL) issued new rules regarding which employees may be exempt from earning overtime pay. Mr. Bonnett explains how it is important for employers to evaluate whether their currently-exempt employees must soon be paid overtime and to reassess employees’ pay, hours, position descriptions and the actual duties employees perform.
