Joel Bertocchi and Anthony Davis Named “Lawyers of the Year” by Best Lawyers
Joel Bertocchi and Anthony Davis, respectively partners in Hinshaw's Chicago and New York offices, were each named a "Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers. Mr. Bertocchi received the honor in the Appellate Practice category for Chicago and Mr. Davis was honored in the Ethics and Professional Responsibility Law category for New York.
Best Lawyers names a single lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area as the "Lawyer of the Year." Those honored are selected based on particularly impressive voting averages received during the peer-review assessments that Best Lawyers conducts with thousands of leading lawyers each year. Receiving this designation reflects the high level of respect a lawyer has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and the same practice areas for their abilities, their professionalism, and their integrity.
Mr. Bertocchi is the chair of Hinshaw's Appellate Practice. He briefs and argues civil and criminal appeals, as well as complex motions in trial courts. He also represents clients in connection with criminal and regulatory investigations, counsels them on compliance policies and related issues and conducts internal investigations in all areas, including corporate governance and employee misconduct. Mr. Bertocchi also provides strategic advice to clients, in and outside the litigation context, on the application of complex statutes and regulatory issues, including RICO and fraud. He is a former Solicitor General of the State of Illinois, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois and Staff Attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Mr. Davis is a member of Hinshaw's Lawyers for the Profession® practice group and his practice focuses on the laws that govern lawyers.
