The security industry and virtually all other employers in our nation have derived an unexpected benefit, perhaps only temporarily, from the recession and the worst economic condition in our country since the Great Depression. It is largely because of the dire economic conditions that the President concentrated a vast amount of his initial efforts in developing and implementing an economic stimulus package ― instead of attempting to make good on a campaign promis to organized labor by aggressively pushing for passage of the Employee Free Choice Act, (EFCA) (H.R. 1409) during the first 100 days of his presidency.
