The headline blares, "Local Politician Found Not Guilty!" Although you may seen an occational headline like this, most federal prosecutions result in conviction and under the new federal sentencing guidelines, a jail sentence.

This article focuses on the important initial stages of while collar criminal defense to alert the practitioner to some of the problmes and pitfalls that may confront a long-time client or corporation who becomes the subject of a federal grand jury investigation.
