Suzanne L. Jones

Practice Focus
Suzanne Jones represents insurance companies in complex coverage litigation involving the insurer’s duties and obligations under all types of insurance policies, including general liability, homeowner’s and automobile policies. She handles all phases of coverage litigation, from initial pleadings through discovery and motions.

In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Jones prepares opinion letters for insurance clients, outlining coverage obligations and potential exposure for first- and third-party claims.
Professional Background
Ms. Jones joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in September 2008. During law school she served as a legal intern at Soffer Charbonnet Law Group in Edina, Minnesota, where she gained experience in the areas of federal import/export regulations and foreign trademark laws, and drafted contract provisions such as escrow agreements and license agreements.

During the summer of 2007, Ms. Jones was an extern to the Honorable Earl Carroll, U.S. District Court, Arizona. In 2006 and 2007 she was a legal clerk at Waldeck & Lind, P.A., in Minneapolis.

During her undergraduate studies Ms. Jones worked during the summers as a benefits intern at Hays Companies.

Ms. Jones is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
Community Service Activities
Ms. Jones is active in her community. She is on the Steering Committee for the American Cancer Society Coalition for Underwriting Research & Education (ACS-CURE), where she plans events, including the organization’s annual gala to raise funds for breast and prostate cancer research. She is also a class representative for the St. Thomas Law School Alumni Association.

In 2006 Ms. Jones devoted time to the Volunteer Lawyers Network, Conciliation Court Clinic of the Minnesota Justice Foundation.

She has been a dog kennel volunteer at the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley, Minnesota, and for two years was a volunteer third grade teacher for Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest.
