Richard S. Unger
Richard Unger has experience in diverse areas of legal practice, including workers’ compensation, bankruptcy litigation, real estate, personal injury, labor and employment law, family law and general commercial litigation. In addition, Mr. Unger assists his corporate clients with development of programs for more cost-effective management of workers’ compensation claims and insurance costs.
Mr. Unger has argued cases before the First, Third and Fourth District Courts of Appeal in Florida.
His clients have included ESIS, Segwick CMS and Gallagher Bassett Services.
Mr. Unger joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in April 2002. Previously he represented employers and insurance carriers on workers’ compensation matters at Marlow, Connell, Valerius, Abrams, Adler & Newman. Mr. Unger is a member of The Florida Bar.
His professional memberships reflect his practice and include the Workers Compensation Section of the Broward County Bar Association and the Broward County Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
Mr. Unger has provided in-house seminars for a number of his clients. His presentations include “Workers Compensation in Florida” and “Case Law Update,” for Lorman Education Services, West Palm Beach, Florida, June 2008.
Mr. Unger is a member of Dade County Jewish Federation.
