Russell A. Klingaman

Russell Klingaman is an experienced trial lawyer who focuses his practice in the areas of aviation, commercial litigation, insurance coverage, insurance defense, intellectual property, personal injury and products liability. 

Mr. Klingaman has handled cases involving catastrophic personal injuries and multimillion-dollar property loss claims.

Mr. Klingaman also has experience with numerous intellectual property cases involving the enforcement and/or defense of trade secret, copyright and trademark claims.

He has handled numerous appeals and has made oral arguments to the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Ninth Circuits, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Professional Background
Mr. Klingaman joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in July 1991.

He is a licensed pilot, which is useful to his aviation litigation practice and is reflected in his membership in the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association (LPBA). He also serves as an executive officer, and is a member of the LPBA board of directors. Mr. Klingaman is also a member of the National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association, Aviation Insurance Association, Aviation Committee of the ABA’s Litigation Section and the Aviation/Space Committee of the ABA’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section.

Mr. Klingaman’s other professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, Seventh Circuit Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin.

He is also a member of the National Business Aviation Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association.

Since 2008, Mr. Klingaman has been named annually to the Super Lawyers list in the area of Aviation by Wisconsin Super Lawyers & Rising Stars magazine.

Mr. Klingaman is an adjunct professor at Marquette University Law School, where he teaches aviation law.
