Robert J. Gibbons

Practice Focus
Robert Gibbons focuses his practice in civil litigation, with an emphasis on products liability, premises liability, commercial litigation and banking law. He also represents insurance companies in complex coverage litigation involving the insurer’s duties and obligations under all types of insurance policies. In addition, Mr. Gibbons handles all phases of civil and coverage litigation, from initial pleadings through discovery, substantive motion practice and trial preparation.

Mr. Gibbons has substantial experience in counseling and representing clients in numerous state and federal jurisdictions, including the United States Court of Appeals, where he has briefed and argued appellate issues on behalf of his clients.
Professional Background
Mr. Gibbons joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as an associate in September 2007. Previously he had been a law clerk with the firm since December 2005.

While still in law school, Mr. Gibbons was a legal extern to the Honorable Wayne R. Andersen, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois. He also clerked for a short time at Gardiner, Koch & Weisberg. In addition to his other law school accomplishments, Mr. Gibbons was a member of the Dean’s List, and a recipient of the Loyola Honors at Entrance Scholarship.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Gibbons was an insurance and financial services representative for State Farm Insurance in Los Angeles, California.
