Peter J. Frommer

Practice Focus
Peter Frommer focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, consumer litigation including foreclosures, products liability defense, toxic tort defense and probate litigation. He represents national manufacturers in products liability, asbestos and toxic tort litigation throughout Florida. Mr. Frommer also handles risk management matters, commercial litigation including contract and shareholder disputes, probate litigation and other insurance litigation.

Mr. Frommer has extensive trial and litigation experience in both state and federal courts. Clients he has defended have included Goulds Pumps, Inc.; Burnham Corporation, Spence Engineering, Leslie Controls, Howden Buffalo, AXA Insurance Company; Union Carbide Corporation; The Dow Chemical Company; Volkswagen of America, Inc.; and Dalloz Safety, Inc.

His representative cases include Ruth Sack v. Andrea Bamberg et al. – Bench trial, with an advisory jury, involving trust contest and entitlement to life insurance proceeds. Trial before Judge William Thomas, in state Circuit Court, in Miami, Florida, November 2010. Verdict in favor of Hinshaw's client on a majority of the counts and issues, resulting in favorable judgment of $500,000.
Professional Background
Mr. Frommer joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in July 2005. Previously he was an associate for six years with the Miami law firm of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A.

During law school, Mr. Frommer was a law clerk for the Michigan Tax Tribunal in Lansing, Michigan, where he drafted opinions, issued orders and reviewed small claims and adjustments on tax and real estate issues for the tribunal judges.

In addition to his other law school accomplishments, Mr. Frommer was a recipient of the Krinock Memorial Award. He was a member of the Dean’s List, Chairman of the Moot Court Board and an intra-school moot court semi-finalist. In addition, Mr. Frommer was Adams Class Director, and also a class senator.

Mr. Frommer holds the AV® Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for ethics and legal ability.

He is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Broward County Bar Association.

Community Service Activities
Mr. Frommer is on the board of directors for The Chrysalis Center, which provides mental health and support services to children, adolescents and families of Broward, Dade and Palm Beach counties.
Personal
Peter lives in Davie, Florida with his wife, two children and the family dog.
