Practice Focus
Patricia Franklin focuses her practice in the areas of professional liability defense, insurance coverage and employment discrimination cases. She is proficient in complex case management and has a broad background in a number of areas of defense litigation.

In the area of professional liability defense, Ms. Franklin has successfully defended lawyers, psychologists, insurance agents, real estate agents and accounting and other professionals against claims related to legal malpractice, medical malpractice, accounting malpractice, personal injury, divorce and nuptial agreements, and employment discrimination.

Her insurance coverage practice includes the representation of both large and small insurers, and domestic and London syndicates. Ms. Franklin handles coverage issues, as well as first- and third-party liability in matters involving securities litigation, legal malpractice, used car dealerships, personal injury and other general litigation.

Ms. Franklin’s employment law practice places particular emphasis in employment discrimination matters involving schools, school districts and law enforcement agencies.
Professional Background
Ms. Franklin joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in August 2009. Previously, and since 2001, she was a named partner with Bush, Augspurger & Lynch, P.A. (now known as Bush & Augspurger, P.A.).

Ms. Franklin began her career in 1993 as an associate with the New Orleans firm of Phelps, Dunbar, LLP. In 1996 she moved to Deutsch, Kerrigan & Styles, LLP, where she became a partner and remained until 2001.

Ms. Franklin is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association and the Highlands County Bar Association. She was the 2001 Secretary/Treasurer of the Greater Covington Bar Association.
