CHICAGO ― The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announced today that skilled litigator
Eric C. Peterson has joined the firm as a partner its
St. Louis and
California offices.
Formerly a partner at the Los Angeles law firm of Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff Incorporated, Mr. Peterson focuses his practice primarily in the areas of commercial bankruptcy, complex business disputes, and director and officer litigation.

Mr. Peterson’s clients range from high net worth individuals, executives, entrepreneurs and closely held companies to large financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, official creditor and bondholder committees, and bankruptcy trustees.
He began his legal career in 1999 at Linowes and Blocher, LLP, in Silver Spring, Maryland. He moved to Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP in Baltimore in 2001, until relocating to Los Angeles and joining Rutter Hobbs. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Peterson worked in the White House Office of Political Affairs, as a lead committee consultant in the California Legislature, and served in the offices of other state and federal elected officials.
From 2005 until 2008, Mr. Peterson was named annually to the
Rising Stars list by
Southern California Super Lawyers. He was featured on the cover of
Los Angeles Lawyer in December 2007 in connection with director and officer defense work and related insurance issues.
He earned his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1998, and also served a clerkship with the Honorable Henry J. Boroff, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Massachusetts during his law school tenure. He earned his B.A. from California Lutheran University in 1991.
