Peter L. Crema, Jr.
Peter Crema is a litigator who devotes his practice to commercial and business litigation.
He works with small to mid-size businesses and business owners in an effort to help them avoid litigation; however, when litigation is imminent, Mr. Crema is an experienced litigator in a wide variety of matters. He has tried cases in family law, personal injury and real estate, including mechanic’s liens, breach of conveyance contracts, breach of lease contracts, homeowners’ arbitrations, ERISA litigation and labor and employment matters. He has also successfully tried cases involving commercial contract disputes.
Mr. Crema was elected in January 2009 to a four-year term to the Brooklyn Park, Minnesota City Council, East District. Brooklyn Park is the sixth largest city in Minnesota.
Mr. Crema joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in July 2007 with a group of seven attorneys from the law firm of Mansfield Tanick & Cohen, P.A., where he was a partner. He began his legal career at J. Oakes and Associates in 1991 after having clerked there during law school. In 1997, he joined Fafinski & Wallrich, and moved to Mansfield Tanick & Cohen in 2002.
Mr. Crema is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, and is a past vice chair of its New Lawyers Section. His professional memberships also include the Hennepin County Bar Association.
Mr. Crema’s presentations include continuing legal education seminars on a number of subjects, including family law, real estate law and general commercial law issues.
His presentations include “Landlord Tenant Law,” a seminar he has taught for Sterling Education Services. He has also conducted presentations on fiduciary duties in closely held companies.
Mr. Crema is a member of the Rotary Club. He is also a member of the St. Alphonsus Pastoral Council.
He is a former member and past chair of the Brooklyn Park Charter Commission, and also a former member of the St. Paul Jaycees.
