CHICAGO ― The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announces that
Patrick L. Patras has joined the firm as a Partner in its
Intellectual Property Practice Group. He will practice in Hinshaw’s
Chicago office. Previously, Mr. Patras was a Partner with Jenner & Block in Chicago.
Mr. Patras devotes his practice to intellectual property law, with particular emphasis on patent litigation. He has extensive experience in all aspects of patent infringement litigation. Mr. Patras has tried patent infringement cases in federal court, as well as in the arbitration setting. He has represented clients in a variety of industries, including computers and electronics. He also counsels clients on intellectual property rights, including providing patent and trademark infringement and validity opinions. Mr. Patras is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and has drafted and prosecuted dozens of patents.
Mr. Patras earned his J.D. in 1992 from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. He received his B.S., with honors, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989, where he majored in computer science.
