Katherine Tresley practices in the areas of consumer and class action litigation. She also represents clients in commercial litigation and in the defense of professional liability claims.
Professional Background
Ms. Tresley joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in April 2012. Previously she was a litigation law clerk at Kevin M. Forde, Ltd.

During law school, Ms. Tresley gained experience as a law clerk. In 2009 she clerked in the Gang Crimes Unit of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, and also served as a clerk at Cooney & Conway. In 2010, she was a judicial extern to the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois and to the Honorable James Epstein, Circuit Court of Cook County, Chancery Division. In 2011, Ms. Tresley was a litigation law clerk in the General Law Division of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan.

In addition to her other law school accomplishments, Ms. Tresley was a member of the Dean’s List and the recipient of CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for Legal Writing I and II. She was a Legal Writing Tutor and a Westlaw student representative.

Prior to her legal career, Ms. Tresley worked at Chicago Magazine and the American Bar Association. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with designer Carolina Herrera, as well as with Harper’s Bazaar and Condé Nast Traveler. She spent the fall of 2003 studying at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain.

Ms. Tresley is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
