Sidney S. Needelman

Practice Focus
Sidney Needelman represents insurers, both in pre-suit and active litigation, with particular emphasis on matters involving first party claims. He drafts pleadings and necessary motions, conducts examinations under oath, works with special investigation units and provides coverage opinions to clients.

When claims are not resolved prior to litigation, Mr. Needelman litigates on behalf of his clients. He regularly attends hearings on motions, including motions for summary judgment. In addition, Mr. Needelman conducts depositions of fact and expert witnesses, and participates in mediations, settlement negotiations and trial preparation.

His clients have included Citizens Property Insurance Corporation and Florida Insurance Guaranty Association, Inc.
Professional Background
Mr. Needelman joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in October 2010. Previously he was for more than two years an associate in the Miami, Florida office of Buckner, Shifrin, Rice & Etter, P.A.

During law school, Mr. Needelman was a law clerk in 2007 with the Law Offices of Touby and Woodward. In 2006, he was a legal intern in the Economic Crime Unit of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and a H.O.P.E. (Helping Others through Pro-Bono Efforts) Fellow. Mr. Needelman was also a legal intern with the Dade County Bar Association and 11th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Project, “Put Something Back” in 2005.

In addition to his other law school accomplishments, Mr. Needelman was a semi-finalist in a negotiation competition.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Needelman worked in marketing and sales for a number of organizations.

During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Needelman was a member of the Dean’s List. He was a National Collegiate Scholar and a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor society. He worked at the university’s radio station as an assistant music director.

Mr. Needelman is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Miami Jewish Legal Society.
Personal
Sidney enjoys participating in religious activities, including those organized by the Miami Jewish Legal Society, and also spends his free time watching mixed martial arts.
