San Francisco – Accomplished attorney Christopher J. Borders has joined the San Francisco office of national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as a partner.
Mr. Borders focuses his practice in the analysis and litigation of complex insurance coverage matters, including disputes involving environmental and construction defect claims. He also has substantial experience with toxic tort, bad faith and professional liability matters.

Prior to joining Hinshaw, he was a partner with Rivkin Radler LLP/McMillan & Shureen LLP as well as general counsel to Appiant Technologies, a public telecom and Voice over Internet Protocol service provider and Mobshop, Inc., a venture capital-backed software company. As a former general counsel, Mr. Borders has extensive experience managing diverse financing and technology contract issues, and also prosecuting intellectual property matters. He represents general business clients in incorporations, business contracts, trademark and copyright applications, as well as other business matters.
Mr. Borders is active in a number of professional organizations, including the State Bar of California, the Defense Research Institute where he is a member of the Insurance Committee, and the Sonoma County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Insurance Law, Litigation, and Business Law Sections of the California State Bar. He is a past Secretary of the Intellectual Property Committee of the American Corporate Counsel.
Mr. Borders received a B.A., with high honors, from the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D from the University of California, Davis.
