Leslie Richards-Yellen Appointed as a Member of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism

Chicago — The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announced today that Leslie Richards-Yellen, Partner and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, was appointed to a two-year term on the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism (ILSCCP).

A strong leader among the legal community, Ms. Richards-Yellen will carry out the ILSCCP’s mission to facilitate a culture of civility and inclusion, in which Illinois lawyers and judges embody the ideals of the legal profession in service to the administration of justice in our society.

As a member of the Business & Commercial Transactions Practice, Ms. Richards-Yellen concentrates her practice in the public finance arena. She has experience as in-house counsel and in private practice. Ms. Richards-Yellen is also a member of Hinshaw’s Executive Committee, chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee and a co-chair of the Attorney Life Committee. Ms. Richards-Yellen is on the Board of Hinshaw Consulting, a strategic management consulting business that was acquired by the firm in April 2012.

Additionally, Ms. Richards-Yellen is the Treasurer of the National Association of Women Lawyers and immediate past chair of the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms.

The purpose of the ILSCCP is to promote among the legal community of Illinois principles of integrity, professionalism and civility; to foster commitment to the elimination of bias and divisiveness within the legal and judicial systems; and to ensure that those systems provide equitable, effective and efficient resolution of problems and disputes for the people of Illinois.
