Jennifer Ballard Featured in IICLE's June 2014 Author Spotlight

Chicago — Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP Labor & Employment associate Jennifer M. Ballard is featured in the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education's June 2014 Author Spotlight, a regular article that recognizes the efforts of contributing authors for IICLE publications. Ms. Ballard co-authored the 2014 QuickGuide on How To Hire, Manage, and Terminate Employees. The QuickGuide offers attorneys and employers clear and concise explanations for dealing with the most challenging aspects of employment, and contains best-practice guidance for all stages of employment.

Ms. Ballard represents private and public sector employers in a full range of labor and employment matters in federal and state courts, before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and similar state agencies, and before both the U.S. and Illinois Departments of Labor. Her traditional labor practice includes representing employers during union organizing efforts, collective-bargaining negotiations, grievance and arbitration proceedings, strikes, and administrative hearings before the National Labor Relations Board and the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, she was selected to the Rising Stars list, in the area of Employment Litigation, by Illinois Super Lawyers magazine. In 2009, she was named by Diversity MBA Magazine to the “Emerging Leader” section of its “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive & Emerging Leaders.” Ms. Ballard earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she earned a Certificate in Health Law.
