Chicago — The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP announces that it has received the Diversity Award from the Indian-American Bar Association of Chicago.
Dan L. Boho, a Chicago-based leader of the Defense Litigation Department of Hinshaw, who received the award on behalf of Hinshaw at IABA’s 5th Annual Gala, said that "It was very exciting to visit with this talented and energetic group, which will be providing key leaders throughout the Chicago legal and business communities over the next few years." The Gala, “The Many Faces of IABA," was held on September 20, 2013, at the Stan Mansion in Chicago.
Founded in 2000, IABA promotes professional development for South Asian legal professionals; provides a forum for them to meet and exchange information and ideas; and disseminates information and opportunities on pro bono and other civic activities within the South Asian community.
A committed supporter of IABA, Hinshaw sponsored the IABA’s 5th Annual Gala. In addition, Hinshaw's Avanti D. Bakane serves on the 2013 Board as the Co-Vice President of Events, and the firm has hosted IABA events in the past, including IABA’s Annual Board Installation Ceremony in Chicago that took place in January of this year.
Leslie Richards-Yellen, Hinshaw’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, said, “Like IABA, we at Hinshaw believe that being a diverse and inclusive law firm benefits our clients, the communities where we practice, and our firm. This award is a validation of the quality and effectiveness of the programs we have put in place. I salute Avanti's long term leadership in this vibrant group.”
