Yu One of NAPABA's Best Lawyers Under 40

CHICAGO, October 1, 2007 – William Yu, a Partner in the Chicago office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, has received the “Best Lawyers Under 40” award from the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA). The purpose of the award is to recognize talented individuals within the Asian Pacific American legal community under the age of 40 who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields of endeavor and have demonstrated a strong commitment to civic or community affairs.

NAPABA is the national association of Asian Pacific American attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students, providing a national network for its members and affiliates. The association represents the interests of more than 40,000 attorneys. Its “Best Lawyers Under 40” award is presented annually to recipients across the United States.

Yu first became involved with NAPABA in 2001. Quickly emerging as a leader, he was named to the organization’s Board of Directors in 2004. Yu served on the Board until 2006. He remains active in the Association, as both a committee and general member. Yu is also a Past-President of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area.

Yu concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, class action litigation, products liability, professional liability and civil rights defense litigation. He is also active throughout other areas of the Chicago and Illinois legal community. Currently, Yu serves on the Hearing Board for the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the state of Illinois, the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Board of Directors, and the City of Chicago's Commission on Human Relations, Advisory Council on Asian Affairs.
