Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP Attorney William Yu Elected Regional Governor of the Midwest Region of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association

Chicago, December 14, 2004 Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP associate William Yu was sworn in as Regional Governor of the Midwest Region of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) this past month. Mr. Yu was sworn in at the installation banquet conducted in association with the 16th Annual Convention of NAPABA held in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Yu will serve one year as Regional Governor and will also serve on the Planning Committee for the next convention of the organization to be held in Chicago in October 2005. 

This past April, Mr. Yu was also selected to serve on the Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. This Panel is charged with aiding the District’s federal judges in the selection of two new Magistrate Judges.

William Yu concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial, professional liability, and civil rights defense litigation. He is the current President of the Asian American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Alliance of Minority Bar Associations and the Korean American Bar Association. He was recently appointed to the City of Chicago's Commission on Human Relations, Advisory Council on Asian Affairs.
