New York Office of National Law Firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP Continues Planned Expansion

Respected Complex Commercial Litigation Lawyer Philip Touitou Joins NY Office

New York, Chicago/July 12, 2004 – Business and complex commercial litigator Philip Touitou has joined the expanding New York office of national law firm Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP as a partner. Mr. Touitou brings to the firm extensive business and complex commercial litigation experience, representing corporate clients in class actions, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, business torts, professional liability, captive insurer liability, directors & officers’ liability and insurance coverage matters.

Mr. Touitou’s cases have been published by both state and Federal courts as decisional authority in their respective fields, and have been extensively cited. Clients that Mr. Touitou has represented include Chubb & Sons Inc., American International Group, Gulf Insurance Group, Zurich American Insurance Co., Westport Insurance (GE), Renaissance Re, CCC Insurance, Ltd., Western Union Corporation, Global Crossing Communication Services, Inc. and Hallmark Entertainment Inc. 

Previously, Mr. Touitou was a partner at Ohrenstein & Brown, LLP in New York where he served as chair of the firm's Continuing Legal Education Committee and as a member of the Partner-Associate Liaison Committee. Before joining Ohrenstein & Brown, he was an associate with the Newark, New Jersey, firm of Saiber Schlesinger Satz & Goldstein from 1989 to 1992. In 1988, he worked as a judicial intern for Hon. Alfred M. Wolin of the U.S. District Court in Newark, New Jersey.

Mr. Touitou is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, and a member of the bar of: U.S. District Courts, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan and U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He received his B.A. from Rutgers College and J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law-Newark.

In March of this year, Hinshaw’s New York office gained two additional top attorneys, Hal R. Lieberman and Rick Supple, both respected for their legal practices representing lawyers and law firms.
