Neil A. Covone, an attorney in the
Ft. Lauderdale office of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP and former World Cup team member, was inducted into Wake Forest University’s Sports Hall of Fame during halftime ceremonies of Wake Forest's football game against Florida State on October 8.
While at Wake Forest, Mr. Covone led the soccer team to the ACC Championship and was named Tournament MVP. Professionally, he played with the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers and led the U.S. U-20 team to a fourth place finish in the U-20 World Cup—the best finish in U.S. history at the time. He also helped the USA National Team qualify for the 1990 World Cup and played in the event in Italy.
